RYA First Aid Course in Dartmouth. Classes run at Dart Marine Academy, one day of classroom-based training. You'll cover first aid skills relevant to life on the water, from dealing with injuries at sea to managing emergencies when professional help may be some distance away. The course runs during the day and completes in a single session, so it fits around other commitments. You'll need a genuine interest in the subject to get started. An initial assessment will confirm the course is the right fit for you.
Who this course is for
This is a course and exam for anyone who owns a fixed or handheld marine VHF radio. A radio is an important piece of safety equipment on board and it is vital to understand the correct procedures. The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio either fixed or hand held.Interested?
