The qualification is aimed at practicing electricians wishing to upskill, to safely install and maintain Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment (EVCE) and achieve a nationally recognised qualification in the design, installation and commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (Battery Storage). There is a key focus on the design of circuits to supply EVCE so it is heavily advised candidates review circuit design calculations before attendance. The scenario-based assignment relies on essential knowledge of BS 7671 and design calculations for a successful outcome. Applicants should be working within the electrical industry and ideally hold a formal level 3 electrical qualification (see entry criteria) and must hold a current BS 7671 qualification.
Entry requirements
A Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 (current edition) and
A Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations or a combined award including Periodic Inspection & Testing
If the applicant does not hold a Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations or SELECT equivalent contact us to discuss alternative routes.
