About this course

Level 5 Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a health and social care or children and young people's setting, building management and leadership skills directly in your role. The course typically takes 15 months. You'll develop the competence employers look for in senior and supervisory positions across care services. Entry requirements

All staff involved in the assessment or delivery of these qualifications should understand the requirements of the qualification and match them to the needs and capabilities of individual candidates before entering them for one of these qualifications. These qualifications have been developed so they are free from any barriers that restrict access or progression and therefore promote equal opportunities. These qualifications are accredited in the QCF for learners aged 19 years and over. There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications. There is no requirement for any specific prior learning. We recommend that an initial assessment should take place to ensure the candidate is capable of reaching the required standards.

Assessment is work-based and ongoing, with an assessor reviewing your evidence and observing your practice in your role. The qualification is credit-based, so units are assessed and credited as you complete them.
