About this course

Level 5 Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services Course. Work-based training at your workplace. This qualification is designed for care managers and advanced practitioners working in adult social care or children and young people's services. You train in your current role, applying your learning directly to your day-to-day work across settings such as residential care, supported accommodation, day care, or home-based services. The course takes 24 months. It covers leadership, practice development, and service management at a senior level.

Who this course is for

This qualification is designed for those learners working as care managers or advanced practitioners within the adult social care and/or children and young people’s sectors. Learners could be working with individuals in a range of settings including their own homes, supported accommodation, day care and/or residential accommodation.

How you will learn

You learn through your work role, applying knowledge and skills directly in your workplace. Assessment is work-based and includes observation of your practice, professional discussion, and a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day responsibilities. Your assessor will visit you in your workplace to observe and discuss your practice throughout the 24-month programme.
