Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistants Course. Work-based training at your workplace. This course is for experienced teaching assistants who want to move into a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role. You train while working in a school or education setting, applying your learning directly in the classroom. To join, you'll need experience as a teaching assistant and achievement at Level 2 in English and maths assessment. You must live or work in Merseyside. The course typically takes 10 months.

Experience and preferably employment in the role of Teaching Assistant plus achievement at Level 2 in our English and Maths assessment.

How you will learn
This is work-based training, so your learning takes place in your school or education setting. You'll build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day practice. Assessment is based on observation in the workplace, professional discussion, and the evidence you gather on the job. You work at your own pace with tutor support, and the course is structured around your working hours and personal commitments.
