Level 3 Youth Work Practice Course in Bristol. Classes run at College Green Centre, part-time during the day over two years. You need to be working or volunteering with young people aged 10 to 21 years old for at least three hours a week before you start. The course covers the theory behind youth work and connects it to your day-to-day practice. You'll deepen your understanding of the challenges young people face and sharpen your skills as a practitioner.
Who this course is for
The Youth Work course is aimed at those who are currently working with young people in a variety of young people's settings e.g. youth clubs, mentor roles, schools etc. The course will enable you to examine the theory underpinning youth work and link this to your practice and will help you to enhance your skills as a practitioner as well as your knowledge of the issues, development and pressures that young people are faced with.
Entry requirements
It is essential that you are undertaking either voluntary or paid work in a setting with young people aged 10-21 years.----Possession of an Enhanced DBS check(issued within the last 12 months)--Personal interview--You should be actively involved in planning and delivering sessions--Have a genuine interest in improving your skills to work with young people--Be working with young people in a youth work setting for a minimum of 3 hours per week----It is desirable that you have a flexible approach to gaining experiences in a range of settings:----Commitment--Being organised--Motivation to make a difference--Effective communication with teachers and group members--The willingness to reflect on yourself and your actions--

Assessment draws on your practical work, so you'll need to be actively involved in planning and delivering sessions throughout the two years.
