About this course

BTEC National Extended Diploma in Information Technology in Enfield. Classes run at Barnet and Southgate College Southgate Campus, full-time during the day.

An Advanced Learner Loan may be available if you are 19 or over. Fees may apply depending on your circumstances. The course runs over 36 weeks. You will study cybersecurity, programming, website development, database development, and data modelling. You will also cover social media management and business IT.

You will need five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and maths. You finish with a Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology.

Who this course is for

In this qualification, you will develop your knowledge and skills in Computing and Information Technology. You will explore how hardware and software work together, how to manage and communicate information and data effectively, and how to design and develop digital technologies and processes that support organisations. Units include (subject to change): Cybersecurity, Programming/Coding, Website Development, Database Development, Data Modelling, Business & IT Enterprise, Social Media Management, Cloud Software, Internet of Things amongst others.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have the following qualifications: 5 GCSEs including English and maths at Grade 4/5 (C) or above. We will consider equivalent qualifications.
