About this course

Level 3 Health and Social Care (Adults) for England Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a relevant health or social care role, building senior-level knowledge and skills on the job. The course covers supporting adults with physical and emotional care, daily living needs, and health care procedures. It offers three pathways: Generic Health and Social Care, Dementia, and Learning Disability. You need to be at least 16 and employed in a relevant role to enrol. The course typically takes 18 months.

Who this course is for

This qualication develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a senior role with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

It has three pathways:

Generic Health and Social Care Dementia, Learning Disability

Entry requirements

apprentice should be at least 16 years old and in employment relevant to this qualification.

What you will learn

How you will learn

This is a work-based qualification. Your learning and assessment take place in your workplace. You'll build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day practice. Assessment is competency-based, meaning you demonstrate your skills and knowledge through observed practice and work-based tasks. Alpha Gateway College will support you throughout, with regular contact from a tutor or assessor.
