About this course

Level 3 First Aid at Work Course in Bodmin. Classes run at STEM and Health Skills Centre over 3 days. The course prepares you to act as a designated first aider in your workplace, meeting the requirements set out in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. You'll cover how to respond to a range of injuries and medical emergencies, from minor incidents to life-threatening situations. Employers across most sectors are required to have trained first aiders on site, so a first aid at work qualification is in demand in almost every industry.

Who this course is for

This course is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

What you will learn

  • You'll learn how to assess an emergency scene and keep yourself and others safe.
  • You'll practise CPR on adults, children, and infants, including the use of an AED.

How you will learn

Learning takes place in the classroom at STEM and Health Skills Centre over three days.
