The course builds on existing engineering knowledge. You'll develop practical fabrication and welding skills alongside industrial studies, materials science, and machine tool systems. It suits trainees and first-year apprentices moving into more advanced techniques. The course runs over 35 weeks.

You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. A BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Engineering at merit or above is also accepted. You'll finish with a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering.

Who this course is for
