About this course

Level 3 Children's Workforce Course in Coventry. Classes run at Koco Community Resource Centre, with full-time daytime attendance over 18 months. To enrol, you'll need Level 2 Functional Skills in both English and Maths. The course prepares you to work as an Early Years Educator across settings including nurseries, preschools, children's centres, and reception classes. You'll develop the skills to support children's learning, development, health, and safety, and may work independently or supervising others. This children's workforce qualification is awarded by TQUK.

Who this course is for

Early Years Educators, and other job roles such as Nursery Nurse and Childminders, are highly trained professionals who play a key role in ensuring that young children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.

In the Early Years Educator apprenticeship, apprentices can work within a range of settings including full day care, children’s centres, preschools, reception classes and in a home setting as Childminders. They may either be working on their own or supervising others to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by the Government for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Koco Community Resource Centre. Assessment includes a combination of practical observation in an early years setting, written assignments, and professional discussions. You'll build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your competence across the qualification's requirements. Practical placement in a childcare setting forms a core part of the programme alongside your classroom learning.
