The course runs over 12 weeks and covers how autism affects individuals, communication approaches, and how to provide effective support. It is open to people aged 19 or over who live in England. This level 3 autism qualification is awarded by TQUK and is relevant to roles in social care, education, and support services.

Entry requirements
Eligible participants must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of the current academic year, reside in England on the first day of learning. Further eligiblity criteria may apply.
What you will learn
You'll understand what autism is and how it is defined and diagnosed.
You'll explore how autism affects communication, behaviour, and social interaction.
You'll learn about the sensory experiences of autistic people and how to respond to them.
You'll develop knowledge of person-centred approaches to supporting autistic individuals.
You'll understand legislation and guidance relevant to autism support.
You'll recognise the importance of working with families and carers of autistic people.
How you will learn
You'll study online, working through written materials and activities at your own pace. Assessment is through written assignments that you submit online. There are no exams. You complete the work in your own time over the 12-week course, with tutor feedback provided on your assignments.

The centre will provide most materials. Adult Education in Gloucestershire will confirm anything else you need before you start.
