About this course

Level 3 Applied Counselling Studies Course in Poole. Classes run at the Dolphin Centre on Wednesday afternoons, 1pm to 4pm. The course runs for 34 weeks, from September 2026 to June 2027. To enrol, you'll need to have completed a Level 2 Counselling course of at least 75 hours. The applied counselling studies classes build on that foundation, deepening your skills and knowledge for roles in counselling and support work. Concessions are available on the course fee.

Who this course is for

This course is designed to support learners who want to work in the support and care sector. Successful completion provides the skills and knowledge needed for a range of roles that support the well-being of individuals. Learners are encouraged to explore relevant job roles through the National Careers Service to check how the course supports their chosen career path. To enrol, learners must have completed a Level 2 Counselling course of at least 75 hours. The course is suitable for individuals who can demonstrate emotional stability, self-awareness, motivation to develop as a counselling practitioner, awareness of difference and diversity, and the ability to form counselling relationships. Learners should be able to reflect on personal experience, benefit from self-development, cope with course content, and identify reasons for training beyond personal interest. The course is not suitable for anyone currently experiencing severe emotional or psychological difficulties, as it includes experiential activities involving personal disclosure. Tutors may advise learners to defer if the course is not appropriate at that time.
