About this course

Level 3 Counselling Course in Poole. Classes run at Bournemouth & Poole College Of Further Education, part-time on Wednesday daytimes from 09:30 to 16:30. This level 3 counselling qualification builds on an existing counselling skills qualification, introducing a range of theoretical approaches, ethics, and mental health topics. You'll develop your understanding of the counselling relationship, difference and diversity, and self-awareness through reflective practice. The course runs over 15 weeks, with start dates in September and January. It prepares you for the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Who this course is for

Curriculum Area: Science, Health and Humanities This qualification is intended for candidates who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills (eg. CSK-L2) : *Take the next step in training to become a counsellor. *Learn more about counselling theory, ethics and mental health. *Be prepared for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting.It introduces underlying theory which prepares you for the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Our Counselling courses are run in conjunction with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB). Applicants must be over the age of 19, and must have completed the CPCAB Level 2 Counselling Skills (CSK-L2), or an equivalent qualification with at least 75 guided learning hours. You will be required to show evidence you have achieved, or are working towards, this qualification. This course runs from 09:30-16:30 on Wednesdays. We have start dates in September and in January. You must be at least 19 years of age and you will be asked to:

CPCAB guidelines are followed and applicants must have a suitable level of literacy, numeracy and IT skills. Bournemouth and Poole College have resources for those who may need additional support with this.

For students who use English as a second language, evidence of IELTS at Level 6 is needed
