About this course

Level 3 Adult Care Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train while working, volunteering, or on placement in a health or social care setting. This adult care qualification is designed for people moving into a lead adult care worker role. Funding is available through an Advanced Learner Loan for learners aged 19 or over. Fees may apply depending on your circumstances. The course takes around 18 months to complete. You'll develop both the knowledge and practical skills needed to lead and support others in care settings.

Entry requirements

Learners should be at least 16 years old.

Learners will need to be working, volunteering, or on practical placement in health & social care, as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

How you will learn

You learn on the job. Assessment is competence-based, meaning you demonstrate your skills and knowledge through your day-to-day work in a health and social care setting. You'll build a portfolio of evidence from your workplace practice. There will also be knowledge-based assessments. You must be working, volunteering, or on a practical placement throughout the course, as both skills and knowledge are assessed.
