About this course

Level 2 Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry Course in Leeds. Classes run at Talented Training Leeds. You must be 18 or over and hold a minimum of Functional Skills Level 1 English (or an equivalent recognised English qualification) to enrol. The course runs over 4 days and combines practical instruction with the underpinning theory you need. On completion, you can apply to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for a licence to work in the CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) sector.

On completion, you will be able to apply for a licence to practise to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) which will enable you to work within the CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) industry.

Entry requirements

You should be aged 18 years or older and as a minimum, have language skills equivalent to the following:

  • a B1 level qualification on the Home Office’s list of recognised English tests and qualifications
  • an ESOL qualification at (Level 1) on the Ofqual register taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • an ESOL qualification at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework level 5 awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and taken in Scotland
  • Functional Skills Level 1 in English

You'll need to demonstrate understanding of CCTV operations, relevant legislation, and incident response procedures to meet the requirements of the Highfield qualification.
