Free Level 2 Teaching Assistant Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a school setting, supporting pupils in National Curriculum Year 1 to 11. The course takes 12 months to complete. You'll need Level 2 English, or the ability to reach that level during the course; Level 1 Maths and ICT are also preferable. This is a free teaching assistant course for adults already in a school role or moving into one.

What you will learn
You'll support teachers in planning and delivering lessons across National Curriculum subjects.
You'll learn how to assist pupils with their learning in Years 1 to 11.
You'll develop skills in safeguarding and child protection in a school environment.
You'll understand how to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
You'll learn how to communicate effectively with teachers, pupils, and parents.
You'll build knowledge of school policies, procedures, and professional responsibilities.
How you will learn
You learn on the job, in your school workplace. Assessment is based on observation of your practice, a portfolio of evidence from your day-to-day work, and professional discussions with an assessor. You'll gather evidence showing how you support teaching and learning in real classroom situations. An assessor will visit your workplace to observe you and review your portfolio throughout the 12 months.
