You will be required to attend an interview at the college for this course and we will request a school or college report.

You will need: a bank of models willing to let you practice on their hair, a kit, uniform and stationery.

  • You'll shampoo, condition, and treat the scalp and hair
  • You'll set and dress hair using heated and non-heated methods

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in a salon environment, working on models to develop your technique. Assessment combines practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out hairdressing services, with written or online knowledge tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence over the course. Classes are classroom based at Darlington College, running part-time during the day.
