About this course

Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Bishop Auckland. Evening hairdressing classes run at Bishop Auckland College, one evening a week over a year. You'll build on Level 1 skills with practical and theoretical training across cutting, colouring, perming, and styling. Practice takes place in the college's purpose-built salons. Entry requires a Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing, or extensive cutting and salon experience. An informal interview and short assessment are part of the application process. This City and Guilds level 2 hairdressing qualification leads to the City and Guilds Certificate in Women's Hairdressing with certificate.

Who this course is for

In this course you will add to the skills you gained at Level 1. Lessons will provide you with practical and theoretical skills relating to the hairdressing sector.

Entry requirements

Minimum four GCSEs at grade A-D including English A Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing. There is no direct entry onto this course unless you have extensive experience in cutting and salon work. An informal interview and short assessment will be required.

Assessment includes practical work and theoretical elements across each unit. An informal interview and short assessment take place before you start.

What you will need to bring

All students in the Hairdressing department are required to wear a uniform and purchase their own hairdressing kit. Kits can be bought from Bishop Auckland College, and support with the cost may be available. Your kit is essential for all practical sessions.
