About this course

Level 1 Photography Course in Bude. Classes run at Bude Adult Education Centre, part-time during the day over 20 weeks.

You'll learn how to use a camera confidently, exploring its controls, menus, and settings. The course covers location shoots, image capture, and basic editing software. You'll build a portfolio of images alongside a working notebook to document your progress.

You'll finish with an NCFE Award in Photography at Level 1.

Who this course is for

This course is designed to introduce both technical and creative skills. You will develop a portfolio that evidences use of the camera and all the controls, menus and then use equipment to capture images. Some location shoots will be included either as part of a session or for homework. Post capturing the images; learn how to use basic software for simple editing and filing. Final outcomes will be in a selection of images alongside a working notebook.

Important:

  • Your portfolio of work will need to stay at the centre until after external moderation has taken place.
  • This course requires confident basic IT skills, such as being able to transfer images between a memory card and a USB drive, print images, and use a mouse confidently.
  • The Level 1 course relies quite heavily on computers during Unit 2, which focuses on photo editing. Learners will be editing their photographs using computer software.
