About this course

Level 1 Learning, Employability and Progression Course in Slough. Classes run at Slough and Langley College, part-time during the day. The course runs over 36 weeks, giving you time to build your knowledge at a manageable pace. You'll develop employability and study skills, strengthen your maths and English, and get an introduction to working in health and social care. No formal qualifications are needed to join. ESOL learners are welcome. You'll finish with the Level 1 Certificate for Learning, Employability and Progression.

Who this course is for

This course will enable you to develop your knowledge and understanding of a broad range of Employability Skills, Study Skills, whilst you continue to improve your Maths and English Functional skills. In addition, the course will also give you an introduction into working in the Health and Social Care Sector.

Entry requirements

IIdeally some work experience in a health and social care setting, but this is not essential. No formal qualifications are needed, ESOL learners are welcome. You must however, demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to the course.

Teaching covers employability skills, study skills, and maths and English alongside an introduction to health and social care. Assessment is ongoing throughout the course. Your progress will be reviewed as you work through each area of the qualification.
