Level 1 Hospitality and Catering Course in Bristol. Classes run at South Bristol Skills Academy, full-time during the day. This is a one-year hospitality and catering qualification that gives you hands-on experience in a professional kitchen and working restaurant. You'll prepare and cook meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, sauces, soups, and pastry dishes. You'll also practise food and beverage service and customer service skills. The level 1 hospitality and catering classes combine kitchen work with front-of-house experience.
Who this course is for
This course is where you will gain skills and knowledge for working in a professional kitchen and restaurant. You will start to get first-hand experience of how to prepare and cook meat, poultry, fish and vegetables as well as sauces, soups and pastry dishes. Whilst working in the college restaurant you will practice food and beverage and customer service skills.

How you will learn
Learning is classroom and kitchen based, with hands-on practice in a working college restaurant. You'll be assessed through practical tasks in the kitchen and restaurant, as well as written and knowledge-based work. Your progress will be reviewed throughout the year.
