Level 1 Early Years Course in Slough. Classes run at Slough and Langley College, part-time during the day. The course runs over 22 weeks, giving you time to study alongside other commitments. You'll build a foundation in childcare for children up to 5 years old. Topics include the value of play, the roles of carers and volunteers, and building links in the local community. You'll start with an initial assessment to confirm the right level for you. You'll need to be at Entry Level 3 or above in literacy to join.
Who this course is for
This is a Level 1 QCF qualification allowing learners to gain a basic knowledge of childcare in early years environments. It is aimed at volunteers and parents wishing to work in early years settings and for those who are new to working in the sector. The Award covers working with children up to the age of 5 years and includes topics such as the value of play, roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers, and the importance of developing links in the local community.
Entry requirements
Learners should be at Entry Level 3 or above for Literacy. All learners will need to complete an initial assessment in order to identify their learning level and identify any needs.
