It is a recognised gcse maths alternative for adults who need a solid maths qualification. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm Level 1 is the right starting point, and the centre will use it to plan your learning.

You'll work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages in practical contexts.
You'll read, interpret and use data from tables, charts and graphs.

How you will learn
You'll attend classroom-based sessions at the centre during the day. Learning is hands-on and task-focused, working through problems individually and in group activities. Assessment is by a written external exam set and marked by Pearson Edexcel. There is no coursework portfolio. The exam tests your ability to apply maths skills to realistic tasks at Level 1.
