About this course

Free NVQ Level 2 Plumbing and Heating Course in Castleford. Classes run at Castleford College, part-time during the day. This is a work-based qualification, so you'll need to be employed in the construction sector carrying out plumbing and heating work. College sessions support your learning, and you demonstrate your skills in your actual workplace. It is recommended that you hold GCSE grades 4 or above in English, Maths, and Science. Where you don't, you'll need to show you're working toward Level 2 in a BKSB assessment. The course takes two years to complete.

Who this course is for

This course is designed for those who have gained employment in the Construction sector, carrying out plumbing and heating activity. This qualification will be supported through skills development and learning in the college environment. Achievement will be gained in the real workplace environment.

Successful completion of this qualification will enable you, to recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrate your competence in the workplace when carrying out the role of a Plumber within the construction industry.

Entry requirements

It is recommended that you hold GCSE grades 4 and above in English, Mathematics and Science. Where these are not in place it is required that you can evidence working towards level 2 in a BKSB assessment.

You'll also build a portfolio of evidence from your workplace activity to demonstrate what you can do.
