About this course

Free Level 4 End-Point Assessment for Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Course in Coventry. Classes run at Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training. This is the end-point assessment stage of an accounting or taxation technician apprenticeship, taken after you have completed your on-programme learning. You'll need GCSE grade 4/C or above in maths and English, plus previous experience or study at Level 3 in accounting. The course runs full-time over 18 months. It covers preparing and co-ordinating accounting tasks that support financial statements, and may include supervising junior team members.

Who this course is for

Professional accounting technicians may work in the accounts or finance department of an organisation or a professional accountancy firm.

The broad purpose of the Professional accounting technician is to prepare, co-ordinate and implement accounting tasks that support the creation of financial statements.

Professional accounting technicians apply their technical knowledge and skills to specific tasks within an accounting team. Tasks may include supervising assistant accountants and others to deliver processes. They may also assist senior accountants, management and other stakeholders by providing timely financial data and reports. They ensure compliance with internal controls. This may include tasks that involve interactions with His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), applying legislation and complying with regulations, ethical and professional codes.

Entry requirements

Grade 4/C or above in maths and English is required plus previous experience at at least level 3 in accounting.

How you will learn

This is a classroom-based, full-time course delivered during the day at Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber Training. As an end-point assessment qualification, your learning is assessed through formal assessment activities that test the knowledge, skills, and behaviours developed throughout your apprenticeship. Assessment methods are set by the apprenticeship standard and confirmed by your employer and training provider before you reach gateway.
