Who this course is for

The purpose of the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or to further study. The AAT L2 qualification provides a perfect step into the AAT L3 qualification.

What you will learn

  • You'll learn how to process financial transactions using double-entry bookkeeping.
  • You'll learn how to use control accounts, journals, and reconciliations to verify financial records.
  • You'll understand basic costing principles and how they support planning and cost control.
  • You'll explore the broader business environment, including legal systems and corporate social responsibility.
  • You'll apply your knowledge across all units in a workplace-context synoptic assessment.

How you will learn

You'll study online and work through four units at your own pace. Each unit is assessed separately. The final unit, the Business Environment Synoptic, is an integrated assessment that draws on knowledge from all previous units.
