About this course

Free Level 3 Understanding Mental Health Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your life.

This course is free for eligible learners. If you already hold a Level 3 qualification gained after April 2021, you'll need an eligibility check before enrolling. The course takes around 20 weeks to complete. You'll explore mental health conditions, the factors that affect wellbeing, and how support services work. Topics include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and the role of recovery in mental health care.

You'll finish with an NCFE Certificate in Understanding Mental Health at Level 3.

Who this course is for

The mental health crisis is becoming increasingly prevalent in the UK, with 1 in 4 adults experiencing a mental health problem every year. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health is designed to provide a greater awareness of mental health issues and the importance of mental well-being.

Entry requirements

To be able to compete our Level 3 courses, you must have not gained a level 3 qualification or higher after 1st April 2021.

If you have gained a level 3 or higher before the 1st of April 2021, you will need to go through our eligibility check to see if you fit the funding body's criteria.

How you will learn

You study entirely online, working through course materials in your own time. Assessment is through written assignments and knowledge-based questions submitted online. There are no exams to sit in person. You'll receive feedback on your work as you progress through the course.
