Free Level 3 Sport and Physical Activity Development Course in Torquay. Classes run full-time at Torquay Academy, five days a week during the day. The course runs over two years. You'll study sports leadership, coaching, and the development of sports performers, alongside building your own practical performance. Entry requires five GCSEs at grade 5 or above.

This course focuses on developing an individual's under standing of the skills and knowledge required to enter the sports industry, whilst still being able to develop their own practical performance. Sports leadership, coaching and the development of a sports performer are key themes that run through the course.

What you will learn
You'll explore the principles of sports coaching and how to apply them in practice.
You'll study sports leadership, including how to plan and lead sessions.
You'll analyse the development of sports performers and the factors that affect performance.
You'll develop your own practical sporting performance across the two years.
You'll examine the structure and demands of the sports industry.
You'll investigate sports psychology and its role in performance.
You'll learn about fitness testing, training methods, and programme design.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom sessions, practical activities, and coursework. Assessment is through a combination of internally assessed units and externally assessed components set by OCR. Internally assessed work includes assignments, projects, and practical tasks marked at the centre. Externally assessed components are set and marked by OCR. There are no traditional written exams for every unit, but some units include timed assessments.
