About this course

Level 3 Sport and Physical Activity Course in Darlington. Classes run at Darlington College, full-time during the day. This course is free if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply. This sport and physical activity qualification builds on the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity (Outdoor). You'll study a further six units to complete the full Diploma, which carries UCAS points for university entry. The course runs over 34 weeks. You must be able to swim 25 metres before you start.

Who this course is for

This innovative and dynamic study programme provides students with the opportunity to acquire substantial knowledge and vocational expertise for the outdoor industry. It follows on from the Level 3 Certificate in Sport & Physical Activity (Outdoor), and provides students with the full Level 3 Diploma by studying a further 6 units. The diplomas is the equivalent of 2 A-levels and offers UCAS points for University progression.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed the NCFE Level 3 certificate in Sport & Physical Activity (Outdoor). For APL entry from a BTEC programme or similar, please contact the college to arrange a meeting. You must be able to swim 25 metres, and this will be assessed during the induction period or through prior certification.

Your swimming ability will be assessed during induction if you don't have prior certification.

The centre will provide most materials. Darlington College will confirm anything else you need before you start. You will need to demonstrate you can swim 25 metres, either through assessment during induction or by providing prior certification.
