About this course

Free Level 3 Site Carpentry Course in Swadlincote. Classes run at Stephen Burke Academy, full-time during the day, over one year. This level 3 site carpentry qualification builds on Level 2 skills, taking you into advanced practical work: traditional cut roofs, stair flights with turns, double doors, ironmongery, curved and raking mouldings, and fixed and transportable machinery. You'll need at least four GCSEs at grade C or above (or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalents in English and maths), plus a successful interview and initial assessment. Entry also requires completion of a Level 2 site carpentry or bench joinery programme, or equivalent industry experience.

Who this course is for

This course offers two pathways (Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery) and builds on the practical skills and knowledge gained at Level 2, progressing to an advanced level. You will learn to carry out first fixing of a traditional cut roof, fixing of a flight of stairs with turns, installing double doors and ironmongery, installing curved and raking moulding, and how to set up and use fixed and transportable machinery.
