About this course

Free Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You learn while you work, applying skills directly in your job role over around one year. The course covers electrical and electronic engineering in practice, from maintaining equipment and machinery to installing systems. You'll need a good standard of maths and English to get started. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm the right level for you. This free NVQ Extended Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification suits those already in or moving into an engineering role.

Who this course is for

On this Apprenticeship, the sort of work you will be doing will depend on your employer. Working in this field requires a good head for figures and IT literacy. You will need good written and verbal communication skills; and you will have to be a team player. At the end of the course you will have a Nationally recognised NVQ 2 qualification in Performing Engineering Operations, a BTEC National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, an NVQ 3 – Engineering Maintenance and Functional Skills at Level 2. These can lead to entry into higher education or alternatively you could progress onto a management role.
