You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C), including English and maths

A Level 2 qualification in Barbering or Ladies Hairdressing

Students aged 19+ without evidence of English and maths qualifications will complete an initial assessment. Results will need to reflect a grade of a grade 4 in English and maths.

All students must undertake and pass a practical dexterity test prior to enrolment to ensure you are suitable for this course.

Assessment is based on practical observations, portfolio work, and written tasks covering both skills and underpinning knowledge. Before you enrol, you'll complete a practical dexterity test. If you're 19 or over without documented English and maths qualifications, you'll also complete an initial assessment to confirm you're working at the required level.
