About this course

Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Course in Eastbourne. Classes run at East Sussex College Eastbourne Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs over one year and covers a broad range of creative disciplines. In the first stage you explore research and drawing across two and three dimensional work. You then specialise in an area such as textiles, fashion, graphics, illustration, photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, or fine art. Studio practice is supported by contextual studies, field trips, and visits to exhibitions. You'll need at least five GCSEs at grade 4 to 9, including English or maths, plus two A Levels or equivalent Level 3 study. A portfolio of work is also required.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.

You will study and specialise in one of a range of art and design areas, including textiles, fashion, furniture, product, crafts (wood, metal, plastic, ceramics, glass, etc.), interior, jewellery, architecture, theatre, costume, graphics, illustration, animation, photography, film, printmaking, painting, sculpture and fine art. Your studio practice will be supported by contextual studies.
