About this course

Level 1 Art and Design Course in Eastbourne. Classes run at East Sussex College Eastbourne Campus, full-time over one year.

The course covers video production, animation, sound editing, illustration and 3D design. You study across three days a week, working on creative projects in each area. Assessment is continuous and based on coursework throughout the year. There is no formal exam. An initial assessment checks that the level is right for you, and you'll also work toward Level 1 English and maths.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Art, Design and Media.

Who this course is for

This Diploma course is designed to provide a bridge between Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. Projects include video production, animation, sound editing, illustration and 3D design. You will be taught by art and media specialists, using industry-standard equipment in our outstanding facilities in Eversley House.

Entry requirements

You will need to demonstrate an ability to achieve Level 1 English and maths by the end of the course through an initial assessment.

You work on creative projects in each subject area, building evidence throughout the course. In your final unit, you may have the opportunity to work at Level 2 if appropriate.
