About this course

Level 3 F-Gas Category 1 Course in Lambeth. Classes run at London South Bank Technical College over one week, part-time during the day. Fees vary depending on your circumstances.

It keeps your existing F-Gas certificate valid for another five years. You must already hold a valid F-Gas certificate in refrigeration, heating, ventilation, or a related field. Your certificate must have expired no more than six months ago. You must also have been working consistently on refrigeration systems.

You'll finish with a Level 3 Award in F-Gas covering installation, service, maintenance, recovery, decommissioning, and leakage checking of Category I systems.

Who this course is for

F-Gas Reassessment training course is a level 3 regulated RQF qualification for learners who wish to work in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industries with fluorinated greenhouse gases. This qualification meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2015/2067.This 2-day reassessment course allows candidates to keep any of their category 1-4 certificates, which covers all F-Gas activities, up-to-date and valid for another 5 years.You MUST have been working consistently on refrigeration systems and still be confident in the handling, vacuuming of and recharging of Fgas refrigeration systems. If you are not confident then we would recommend the full course where additional training will bring you back up to speed

Entry requirements

What you will learn

  • You'll demonstrate safe handling of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
  • You'll practise vacuuming and recharging refrigeration systems.
  • You'll review installation and service procedures for Category I systems.
  • You'll cover maintenance and decommissioning of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
  • You'll carry out leakage checking in line with current regulations.
  • You'll update your knowledge of F-Gas regulations, including Regulation (EU) 2015/2067.

How you will learn

The course is classroom based and runs over one week, part-time during the day. You'll take part in practical and theory sessions covering F-Gas procedures and regulations. Assessment is through a formal examination or practical assessment to confirm your competence at Category I level.
