The programme will provide a bespoke blend of technical knowledge training which will be customised to meet the needs of individual learners and companies. Manufacturers are increasingly asking for short, sharp, bespoke technical level training which provides an essential knowledge of materials and processes alongside an understanding of relevant digital technology applications and sustainability practices. This programme will help to plug the gap between longer duration apprenticeships with their more generic content and structure compared to this detailed, focussed approach to key job roles that require highly technical elements and specialist knowledge provision. The programme will provide local companies with the supply of future technicians that they need and also provide enhanced opportunities for workers to progress into better paid technician jobs, alongside opportunities to undertake Level 4 Textile Technician Apprenticeship training. The programme will also improve the technical and employability skills of local young people and adults and significantly improve their chances of securing employment in the sector.
