What you will learn

You'll practise CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
You'll learn how to treat bleeding, burns, and wounds.
You'll learn how to recognise and respond to shock.
You'll learn how to help someone who is choking.
You'll learn how to manage a casualty who is unresponsive but breathing.
You'll understand your responsibilities as a first aider in a workplace setting.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions combining practical demonstrations, hands-on practice, and tutor-led instruction. Assessment is through observed practical skills and a short knowledge-based assessment. You need to demonstrate competence in the practical elements to pass the course.
