Free BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport Course in Bournemouth. Classes run at The Bourne Academy, full-time over two years.

This Level 3 BTEC sport qualification covers sport science, anatomy and physiology, coaching principles, fitness training, and sports psychology. You'll study through a mix of classroom lessons, practical sessions, and coaching work. Most of your assessment is coursework, with two external exams. Entry requires five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths, and a grade 5 or above in English.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport.

Who this course is for

The BTEC course is designed for people who have an interest in SPORT, coachiing and jobs within the sports industry. This course is mainly coursework based, but has elements of practical work and units. You will learn through classwork, practical lessons and coaching sessions. The Triple course is equivalent to 3 A-levels and the Single course is the equivalent to 1 A-level. Both qualifications are a 2 year course with new specifications. There will be 4 exams for Triple students and 2 exams for Single students

Entry requirements

Five or more grades at 4+ in GCSE or equivalent, including English and Maths. A grade 5+ in English (Lang or Lit)
