Free Level 2 Taxi Driver Course in Bootle. Classes run at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club, full-time during the day. The course runs for 3 weeks and covers everything you need to work as a licensed taxi or private hire driver. You'll need to live in the Liverpool City Region, be 19 or over, hold a full UK driving licence for at least a year, and have no more than 6 points. Funding also covers your taxi medical, DBS check, and council badge application.
Who this course is for
These courses are government funded. If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits. We will help you to get your taxi badge. We provide the required qualification, fund your taxi medical, taxi DBS and your badge with your council of your choice.
Entry requirements
1. Live in the Liverpool City Region 2. Be 19+ prior to the 31st August 2024 3. Be unemployed or earn less than £33,958.60 per year. 4. Have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3years. 5. Not currently a student. 6. Held a full UK driving licence for minimum of 1 year. 7. No more than 6 points on your driving licence.
What you will learn
You'll learn the responsibilities and professional standards expected of a licensed taxi and private hire driver.
You'll understand the licensing rules that apply to taxi and private hire work in the UK.
You'll learn how to keep passengers safe and handle difficult or vulnerable passengers appropriately.
You'll develop knowledge of relevant road traffic law and driver conduct.
You'll understand equality and disability awareness as it applies to carrying passengers.
You'll learn about vehicle safety checks and your responsibilities as a driver.
How you will learn
You'll study in a classroom at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club over 3 weeks of full-time daytime sessions. Learning is delivered through taught sessions and group activities. Assessment is through a knowledge-based test set by Highfield. You do not need to sit an exam at an external centre.

The centre will provide most materials. Firwood Bootle Cricket Club will confirm anything else you need before you start. You will need to bring proof of your full UK driving licence and documentation to confirm your eligibility, such as proof of address and residency.
