Free Level 2 Sport Course in Boston. Classes run full-time at Boston College Peter Paine Performance Centre. You'll need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, or a Pass at BTEC First Certificate or Diploma, to join. The course runs over 9 months and covers coaching, instructing, and the practical skills needed in the sports industry. Alongside the main sport qualification, you'll also study the YMCA Level 1 Assistant Gym Instructor Award.
Who this course is for
The Level 2 Sport OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma is designed to give you a comprehensive experience of the skills required to work within the sports industry. In addition to this qualification, you will also study the Fitness and Physical Activity YMCA Award Level 1 Assistant Gym Instructor qualification. Level 2 Sport OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma contains practical units to improve your coaching and instructing ability whilst improving on your confidence and professionalism. Alongside the physical aspects, the course also teaches strong foundations to help you understand the industry and the academic and employer related skills that will be required. You will study subjects in a practical way where possible, however even within practical subjects there will be an element of theory and portfolio building work to be completed. Alongside our fantastic education pathway, learners will also be part of the Boston College Academy of Sport which will allow participation in regional and local competitions in many sports. This year, learners accessing our provision, will be able to take part in the 'prestigious' Association of Colleges Football league. Students will have training built into their timetable, receive training from a Licensed UEFA B football coach and build on their personal, technical, tactical, and physical attributes. Entry requirements
The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Sport OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma are four GCSEs grades 3 or above (Old GCSE grade D or above) (or equivalent), or Pass at BTEC First Certificate/Diploma.
