Free Level 2 Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development Course in Peterborough. Classes run at Peterborough College, full-time during the day, over 36 weeks. This skills for employment, training and personal development qualification builds the study skills and subject knowledge you need to progress to a Level 3 Access to Higher Education course. You'll also have the opportunity to work toward GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications alongside the main programme. Entry requires Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths, though relevant experience may be considered instead.

Who this course is for

The PreAccess course is a 1 year fulltime course for motivated individuals aged 18 or over who want to develop study skills and subject knowledge at level 2 in preparation for a Level 3 Access to HE course or who do not have sufficient qualifications to be accepted on to an Access to HE course currently. The course will result in an NOCN Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Employment Training and Personal Development qualification. You will also be given the opportunity to study GCSE or Functional Skills English and/ or maths qualifications as part of the course which are also required for progression to the Access to HE courses.

Entry requirements

For entry on to the preAccess course students should hold Functional Skills Level 1 or above in English and maths. However formal qualifications may not be necessary for entry to this course if you are able to demonstrate relevant industry experience or evidence of other work training.
