Level 2 Public Services Course in Hitchin. Classes run at Hitchin Centre, full-time during the day over 34 weeks. The course is free if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply, though an Advanced Learner Loan and financial support may be available. This level 2 public services qualification covers the knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in the uniformed and non-uniformed public services. You'll take part in classroom sessions, practical activities, and trips to venues such as the Lee Valley White Water Centre. Entry requires four GCSEs at grade D or above, including maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.

You will work with employers including Pure Gym and the Rugby Football Union community coach and you will go on several off-site visits including sports labs at universities and the Olympic Park. Topics you will cover include leading sports activities, practical sports performance, and mind and sports performance.You will hone relevant workplace skills such as a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology and the ability to work as a team.You will also complete maths & English qualifications to grade 4 if you haven?t got them already as they are essential in this industry.
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D or above including maths and English; or, Four GSCEs at grade D or above, plus functional skills level 1 maths and English; A level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area, passed with a Merit or Distinction grade - plus maths and English GCSE grade D or above, or functional skills level 1 maths and English.
