This is a free nutrition and health course for adults aged 19 or over who live in the North Yorkshire or Tees Valley area. You'll need the right to live and work in the UK and to have lived in the UK or EU for the previous three years.

What you will learn

You'll understand what makes a balanced diet and how to assess food choices.
You'll learn how to read and interpret food labels and nutritional information.
You'll explore the role of hydration and how fluid intake affects health.
How you will learn
You study entirely online, working through course materials at your own pace. Assessment is by written assignments or knowledge-based questions completed online. There are no exams to sit in person. You submit your work digitally, and it is assessed against the qualification standard before your certificate is awarded.
