Who this course is for

This course is based on an industrial model via our production company, Miskin Music.

Miskin Music produces a diverse array of live performance and recorded music productions. Trainees participate in 'real world' professional processes with an emphasis on attracting audiences and consumers.

Trainees will also develop and refine an online portfolio/personal website, which is increasingly seen as a vital resource for progression either into employment, or our specialist Level 3 programmes. A recognition and understanding of career paths and employment opportunities are embedded in our work, offering trainees an introduction to music performance techniques, composition.

Through focused project briefs, you will develop a vocational understanding and the creative and technical skills to ensure that the music you create will be relevant for a contemporary commercial world.

This Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

How you will learn

You'll learn through a production-company model, working on live and recorded projects as part of Miskin Music. Classes are classroom-based and run full-time during the day. Assessment is built around the productions you create and the portfolio you develop throughout the year. Your online portfolio and personal website form a key part of how your progress is recorded and evidenced.
