About this course

Free Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Course. Study online. You can work through the course at your own pace, which makes it practical if you have work, caring responsibilities, or other commitments. Over 12 weeks, you'll cover mental health and well-being, stigma and stereotypes, safeguarding, and the responsibilities of a mental health first aider in the workplace. The course requires a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent. It opens doors to roles in care, education, and support work where understanding mental ill-health matters.

If so the Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health First Aid and Well-being Advocacy is the course for you.

Mental Health First Aid is a growing phenomenon to help tackle the mental health crisis. 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any given year. This can range from common problems, such as depression and anxiety, to rare problems like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent.

  • You'll recognise what healthy environments that promote well-being look like.

How you will learn

You'll study entirely online, working through written units and materials at your own pace. Assessment is through written assignments or knowledge-based tasks linked to each unit. Heart of Yorkshire Education Group will provide access to the online learning platform and support throughout your 12 weeks of study.
