Free Level 2 Ladies Hairdressing Course in Leeds. Classes run at Leeds City College Printworks Campus. This full-time daytime course runs for one year and covers the practical and technical skills you need to work as a hairdresser. You'll need four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. A Level 1 hairdressing qualification or equivalent is also desirable. The course combines academic study with hands-on practice in industry-standard facilities.

Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 4 including English and maths. Ideally you will also hold a level 1 qualification in hairdressing or equivalent
What you will learn
You'll cut and style ladies' hair using a range of techniques
You'll colour and lighten hair, including tinting and highlighting
You'll shampoo, condition, and treat the scalp and hair
You'll style and finish hair using heated and non-heated tools
You'll consult with clients and identify their needs
You'll follow health, safety, and hygiene standards in a salon environment
How you will learn
You'll learn through practical sessions in salon-standard facilities, combined with classroom-based study. Assessment includes practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out hairdressing tasks to a set standard, alongside written assignments and knowledge tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
