Free Level 2 Ladies Hairdressing Course in Ely. Classes run full-time at Ely College. This ladies hairdressing qualification takes one year of daytime study and covers the core skills you need to work as a junior hairdresser or hairstylist. You'll need at least three GCSEs at grades 3 to 9 (or equivalent) to start. The level 2 ladies hairdressing classes are delivered in a salon environment, giving you hands-on practice from day one.
Who this course is for
The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Ladies Hairdressing is a Technical Qualification aimed at learners aged 16-19 who require a full-time Level 2 education programme and wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed junior hairdresser/hairstylist. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but in order to optimise their chances of success, a learner will ideally hold a Level 1 qualification or equivalent in hairdressing. Learners who complete this qualification are eligible to become a graduate State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hairdressing Council. This qualification has been developed collaboratively with employers, professional associations and key stakeholders in the hairdressing sector. The knowledge, skills and competencies gained will provide the best possible opportunity for progression into employment. How you will learn
You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in a salon setting alongside classroom-based theory. Assessment combines practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out hairdressing services, with written or online tests covering the underpinning knowledge. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the Diploma.
