During this study programme you will have the opportunity to be the creator and producer of IT technology products and systems. Across this one-year programme you will have the opportunity to study a wide range of ICT subjects. This course looks to develop your skills in an area that is fast developing. Future jobs will also desire/require a good understanding of new technologies.

If you are aged 16 to 18, you will be enrolled on a study programme. This will include retaking GCSEs or undertaking Functional Skills in English and maths if you haven't already achieved a grade 4 or above. You will take part in activities that help you to develop your personal skills, such as building your character and confidence. This will help you to live well and move into your chosen career.

If you are 16-19 years old these activities will be timetabled as will work experience and placement. You can also choose to take part in other activities. For other age groups, activities will be tailored to your needs.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Leicester College St. Margaret's Campus, running full-time from 9am to 5pm. The Pearson Edexcel BTEC format uses a mix of assignments, projects, and practical tasks rather than traditional exams. You'll produce evidence of your work throughout the year, creating IT products and systems as part of your assessment. If you're aged 16 to 18 and haven't yet achieved a grade 4 in GCSE English or maths, you'll also work toward those alongside this course.
