Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Abingdon. Classes run at Abingdon & Witney College Abingdon Campus in the evenings. The course may be free if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply. To join, you'll need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or Maths, or a Level 1 pass in a related subject with English and Maths at grade 2 or Level 1 Functional Skills. This level 2 hairdressing qualification covers the core skills you need to work in a salon.

Entry requirements
4 GCSES at grade 3 including English or Maths OR a Level 1 pass in a related subject plus English or Maths and both English and Maths must be at least grade 2 / Level 1 Functional Skills.
What you will learn
You'll cut and style hair using a range of techniques
You'll colour and lighten hair safely
You'll shampoo, condition and treat the scalp
You'll style and finish hair using tools and products
You'll consult with clients to understand their needs
You'll follow health, safety and hygiene standards in a salon setting
How you will learn
You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in a salon environment. Assessment is a mix of observed practical work and written or online tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence showing your skills across the units. A qualified assessor will observe you working and give feedback throughout the course.
